Position Objectives
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nutrition Program Director to
oversee our nutrition programs and services. This role combines clinical expertise with administrative responsibilities to ensure the effective delivery of nutrition care and education. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, clinical knowledge in dietetics, and a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles.
Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage nutrition services, including assessment, planning,
implementation, documentation, reporting, and evaluation of nutrition programs to
include our Home Delivered Meals program (HDM) as well as our two congregate dining
programs.

Oversight and scheduling of all food services staff and managing labor and supply costs
to meet operational requirements and budget goals.

Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding food quality and service in a
professional and timely manner.

Conduct comprehensive nutrition program assessments and menu planning for clients
based on the requirements of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human
Services Division of Aging.

Manage inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels while
minimizing waste and controlling costs.

Develop and implement nutrition education programs and workshops for clients, staff,
and the community to promote health and wellness.

Stay informed about current research, trends, and developments in nutrition science to
enhance program effectiveness and client outcomes.

Maintain and schedule routine maintenance on all food service equipment.

Ensure sanitation, food service, and safety requirements are followed for the operations
of the nutrition program.

Supervise and mentor nutrition staff and volunteers to ensure quality service delivery
and professional growth.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred but not required.

Licensed Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification required.

Minimum of 1-3 years experience in clinical nutrition or dietetics, with previous
leadership or coordination experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of nutrition assessment tools, dietary guidelines, and evidence-based
practices.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
with clients, healthcare professionals, and team members.

Proven organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple priorities and
deadlines.

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of
dietetics.

Proficiency in computerized ordering systems and kitchen management software is an
asset.
